Hey y'all! I'm Kennedi Stephenson and I'm a student at JNSA. I love everything creative and just finding artistic ways to express myself. The arts help me show and say things I just can't describe with words, and I consider it a huge part of my personality! That's why I love JNSA of course! It's my creative outlet to express all these things.

At JNSA, I've learned so much and met so many creative and cool people. I feel like everyone should have their recognition and time in the spotlight to show off what they create whether they're behind the scenes moving set pieces during the blackout, or being the in the spotlight as the main character! So, I'm excited to start blogs (and vlogs) to give a sneak peek of what the students love about JNSA and behind the magic!

Carley Harris, Performing Arts 

I’m Carley, and I’m 12 years old. What I love about Jessye Norman School of The Arts is how they make feel included with whatever we do. I feel included when we're engaging with each other. I also like how the teachers could be doing anything else, but they chose to care for us. They communicate well with us and make us feel like kids. They treat us like we are one of their own kids. That’s what I like about JNSA. 

Anna Hobson, Art 

Hi, my name is Anna Hobson, I'm in the 6th grade and I go to heritage academy. I like Jessye Norman School of The arts because there are so many nice people here. It is so easy to make friends and there is such a variety of kids. There is also a homework room and it’s a great opportunity to get our work done before we get home. I also love the variety of activities and opportunities. The classes are art, music, tech, digital arts, dance, and drama. They have a show every semester which give us an opportunity to show off what we been working on. That’s why I like Jessye Norman School of The Arts.

Denver Davis, Art 

My name is Denver, I’m in the 5th grade and I’m home schooled. What I like about JNSA is art. I get to paint, draw, and make projects. I like this about JNSA because they have lots of stuff I like, and they give us homeroom time to do what we like. They also give us free snack and that’s what I like about JNSA. 

Ocean Crump, Digital Arts 

Hi, my name is Ocean, and I go to RCTCM. I’m 12 years old in 6th grade. The thing I like about Jessye Norman the most is the creativity I see everywhere. The reason I go to JNSA is because I love to create and see things that people make. I like when my family sees what I have made over the semester, and I have place to go after school. I also like to see my friends at JNSA. Everyone here is different in their own way. They are nice, kind, caring, and amazing. Jessye Norman is a great space to be when you're bored.
