Denise Heard was born and raised in Texas, where she grew up singing and touring with her family. She pursued her passion for music by obtaining a classical piano degree in college. After completing her education, she moved to Nashville, TN, a city known for its vibrant music scene.

In Nashville, she initially worked as a recording studio keyboard player, contributing to various musical projects. However, her career took a shift when she began collaborating with songwriters in the studio. This experience led her to focus on songwriting, and she went on to sign multiple publishing deals as a professional songwriter.

Throughout her career in Nashville, Denise also dedicated her time to teaching and mentoring students. She has found joy in passing on her musical knowledge and collaborating with young learners to help them discover their own musical paths.

Recently, Denise relocated to August and last semester was Denise's first semester at JNSA as the songwriting instructor. This experience produced great outcomes and experiences!
